Store Setup

The Store Setup tab is where you can enter and update the information for your location, set business operations, set and assign taxes, and other such important store setup tasks.

Store Operations

The Store Operations page allows you to select or deselect the different business operations and manage inventory tracking at your location. You can also edit information, add hours of operation, and select the different applications for your location.

Business Options

The Business Options allow you to configure and customize various functioning parts of your business.
  • Store Information
    • The General information for the store will be listed here. With proper permissions, you can also add, edit, or delete the information as needed.
  • Hours of Operation
    • The Hours of Operation panel allows you to add, edit, and delete the hours of operation for your business. You can add each day and set time individually, or select multiple days with a set time.
  • Business Options
    • The Business Options panel allows you to select certain features that are applied to the Global Payments POS. These features can be turned on or off by selecting or deselecting the checkbox next to the relevant option.
  • Track Inventory
    • The track inventory section on the Business Options panel allows you to manage the inventory tracking settings.
    • Allow item sales when quantity on hand is 0 - This will allow you to sell an item that shows an on-hand quantity of zero.
    • Track inventory quantities for selected item - This will allow you to enable quantity tracking. You can enter and track the quantities of individual items in the Item library.
    • Warn when item quantities are low during order entry - This enables a warning message when the quantity of an item reaches a certain level.
  • Applications
    • The Applications panel allows you to choose which of the available product types you will enable for use at the business location. The application types available to you are predetermined by your provider. Selecting the different product types at your location makes them available in the product type dropdown on the Add Registers page.

Registers

Registers

The Registers page enables you to manage actions associated with the registers at your business’s location.

View Registers

The Registers page allows you to see a list of registers that have been added for your business’s location.

  1. Select Store Setup in the Navigation menu.
  2. Select Registers.

Add Register

The Add Register page allows you to add a new register for your business’s location.

  1. Select Store Setup on the Navigation menu.
  2. Select Registers.
  3. Select the Add Register button.
  4. Enter the register name and description.
  5. Select an application type.
  6. Select a register template
  7. Enter the terminal ID
  8. Select the Save button

Edit Register

The Registers page also enables you to edit a register’s information, assign hardware, and set display images.

  1. Select Store Setup on the Navigation menu.
  2. Select Registers.
  3. Select the Pencil icon next to the register name.
  4. Edit and relevant information or assign/unassign devices.
  5. Select the Save button.
  6. Select the Done button.

Receipt Order Number

A receipt order number is a two-digit number that is added to the beginning of the order number and will be unique to each register.

  1. Select Store Setup in the Navigation menu.
  2. Select Registers.
  3. Select the Pencil icon next to the register name.
  4. Select the order number series.
  5. Enter a unique one- or two-digit number.
  6. Preview the example.
  7. Select the Save button.

Edit Register Settings

Accessory Display Image

Accessory displays are the capabilities for displaying splash images, ad images, and receipt information. Splash images are large images capable of being displayed across the entire screen. Some merchants use these to advertise promotions or display their logo more generally.
  1. Select Store Setup in the Navigation menu.
  2. Select Registers.
  3. Select the Pencil icon next to the register name.
  4. Select the dropdown on the Accessory Display panel.
  5. Select a display image to assign to the register.
  6. Select the dropdown on the Connection panel
  7. Select how your register will connect to the accessory display
  8. Enter a Bluetooth address or IP address if required
  9. Select the Save button

Customer Facing Display

Customer-facing LCDs are for customers to review orders while they are being checked out.

  1. Select Store Setup in the Navigation menu.
  2. Select Registers.
  3. Select the Pencil icon next to the register name
  4. Select the dropdown on the consumer-facing LCD pane.
  5. Select a consumer-facing LCD to assign to the register.
  6. The Connection dropdown menu will become available and be automatically filled in with USB.
  7. Select the Save button.

Scanner

You can assign a barcode scanner to your Global Payments POS. This can be used to scan items, discount codes, and receipts. It can also be used in conjunction with the 'Add Item' / 'Edit Item' feature be used to load bar codes directly to the item library.

  1. Select Store Setup in the Navigation menu.
  2. Select Registers.
  3. Select the Pencil icon next to the register name.
  4. Select the dropdown on the Scanner panel.
  5. Select a scanner to assign to the register.
  6. Select how your register will connect to the scanner.
  7. Enter a Bluetooth address or IP address if required.
  8. Select the Save button.

Payment Terminal

You can assign a barcode scanner to your Global Payments POS. This can be used to scan items, discount codes, and receipts. It can also be used in conjunction with the 'Add Item' / 'Edit Item' feature be used to load bar codes directly to the item library.

Payment terminals are an essential part of processing credit and debit transactions of all types.

  1. Select Store Setup in the Navigation menu.
  2. Select Registers in the expanded menu.
  3. Select the Edit button next to the register to which you wish to assign a payment terminal
  4. In the Payment Terminal panel, select the left dropdown menu
  5. Choose which payment terminal you would like to assign to the register
  6. In the Connection dropdown menu, select how your register will connect to the payment terminal
  7. If a Bluetooth address required, the address text box will become available
  8. Enter the appropriate address in the address text box
  9. Enter the port number
  10. Select the Save button.

Receipts

Receipts

Receipts can be customized with a logo, header, and footer information. Receipts can be emailed and printed.

Customize Receipts
  1. Select Store Setup in the Navigation menu.
  2. Select Receipts.
  3. Upload a logo or replace your current logo, select the Choose File button, then select a file (Size limit to files of 1mb)
  4. Add or edit a header in the text box.
  5. Select a receipt option.
  6. Select the Save button.

Note: The view on the right is a real time example of the changes you make to your receipt.

Printers

Printers

Printers represent the physical printers in your business where an order receipt will be printed after being sent to the kitchen.

Add Printer

The Add Printer button allows you to add Printer printers for your location.

  1. Select Store Setup in the Navigation menu.
  2. Select Printers.
  3. On the Printers page, select the Add Printer button.
  4. On the Add Printer page enter the Printer name and set the Printer type.
  5. Select Save.

Note: Additionally, for an Expeditor to work, there must already be a Kitchen printer active on the account. Also that the expeditor will only print items on the order which have been applied to the Kitchen printer. Where, multiple kitchen printers exist for different sections of a larger restaurant, any item can only be applied to a single printer.

Edit Printers

The Edit Printer button allows you to edit any previously added Printer printers for your location.

  1. Select Store Setup in the Navigation menu
  2. Select Printers.
  3. On the Printers page, select the Pencil icon.
  4. On the Edit Printers page, enter a Printer name and set the Printer status.
  5. Add items to the kitchen Printer printer.
  6. Select the Save button.
